One thing that really stood out at the New York Toy Fair 2005, was that there were licensed toys everywhere. Most major toy manufacturers have released or are planning to release toys based on licensed characters from popular movies like Star Wars Revenge Of The Sith, Batman Begins and so forth. There is a huge market out there for these toys which is built up on the hype around the movies and TV shows. It is also a safe bet for toy retailers to stock up on licensed toys, as they have a longer shelf life than most toys, in majority of the cases. For example, Star Wars and Batman have such a massive fan following, and these toys will always be hot sellers, compared to say, a Bratz Winter Wonderland Playset which is so seasonal.
