Bratz Dolls - The Dolls With A Cause - The Charity Bratz Auction
Tuesday March 22, 2005
Bratz Dolls are truly revolutionary dolls and are sweeping the world off their feet. Do you want to know what Bratz has been upto recently? Well, MGA Entertainment, the creator of Bratz, is holding a Charity Bratz Auction on Ebay for 35 Celebrity Signed Bratz Dolls beginning on the 24th of March 2005. This Charity Bratz Auction will benefit the victims of the Tsunami disaster through the charity Save The Children: Tsunami Relief Fund.
These dolls will be signed by artists like Alicia Keys, Sheryl Crow, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin and a host of other artists. How did this auction come about? In case you didn't know, MGA Entertainment's Bratz sponsored this years Grammy Awards Gift Lounge at the Awards Show in LA. They got these dolls signed by all the celebrities there. And since Bratz genuinely cares about the world and the children, it was decided to donate 90% of the auction proceeds off to charity.
Bratz Dolls have a strong personality of their own, unlike Barbie which is more of a passive pretty looking doll. The Doll Wars between Barbie and Bratz have been going on for a while now, and it looks like Bratz is gaining over Barbie's popularity. The Bratz Dolls have lots in store for their 2005 line, and are planning to release a rock album with Bratz Rock Angelz in the summer. Going to hit the stores is their Bratz Dynamite Line which have pretty cool looking characters. You can check out some Bratz Dynamite pics on Ebay.
In the meantime, what is Barbie upto? Barbie Dolls have themed their 2005 releases around fairies, fantasies and stuff little girl's dreams are made out of. Less of a real world doll than Bratz, Barbie Dolls are more gentle and delicate. Many parents are of the opinion that Bratz Dolls are a bad influence on their kids, due to the Bratz themes which revolve around discos, parties, nightlife, hot fashion, blind dates and the like. Barbie, on the other hand, doesn't have such a strong personality as Bratz, and is more into the magical and mystical side of things. The Barbie Line For 2005 is the current Barbie Fairytopia, and an upcoming Barbie And The Magic Of Pegasus later this year.
Whether your child is more into Barbie Or Bratz, both these dolls have a charm and a niche of their own, and the Doll Wars will continue for a while. Keep updated for the latest Doll News here on About.com!
