The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) has selected nominees in eight categories for the 2005 LIMA International Licensing Excellence Awards. Every year, LIMA awards licenses in the categories namely art, character, corporate film and television, sports/special events, retailer, and promotions. There is also one award for Overall Best License of the Year, and one award each for Best Licensee Hard Goods and Best Licensee Soft Goods.
The awards ceremony will be held on the 22nd of June at the Grand Hyatt Hotel at Grand Central in New York.
And the nominees are...
According to Playthings magazine,
"Bratz, My Little Pony and Care Bears are three of the nominees in the Best Character Brand License of the Year while Campbell’s, Hot Rod Garage and Jeep, DaimlerChrysler fit into the best Corporate Brand License category.
Several of those brands, Bratz, Care Bears and Hot Rod Garage, also make it into the Overall Best License of the Year category as well as American Chopper and Scarface."
Seeing the popularity of Bratz, it is no wonder that good things are happening to these dolls. My Little Pony and Care Bears are classic brands which have made a comeback in recent years.
