Mattel Donates $100,000 And A Truckload Of Toys Towards Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

Mattel, Inc. has donated $100,000 cash to the American Red Cross to help with ongoing disaster relief efforts in the area. In addition to the cash donation, Mattel has also donated a full truckload of toys for the kids affected by Hurricane Katrina.
According to Kevin Farr, CFO of Mattel, Inc. and chairman of the Mattel Children's Foundation, "We, at Mattel, understand the power of 'play' and will be working with organizations to ensure children have access to toys that will provide moments of much needed relief during the difficult months ahead."
The Mattel Children's Foundation has been assisting needy children right from 1978. It supports cash grants for charity through various national and international programs, as well as a variety of benefits for the children of Mattel employees.
