Jet Streamers Pool Toys Recalled By Wild Planet

Wednesday September 6, 2006
Jet StreamersA recall has been issued for approximately 273,000 units of Jet Streamers(tm) Water Blasters Pool Toys manufactured and distributed by Wild Planet Toys, Inc. The pool toys are basically water squirt guns, which are around 9" long. They have a bulbous water reservoir on one side, and a tapering handle with a hole for squirting water on the other side. The Jet Streamers were sold in either in packs of 2, packaged with other pool toys, or with boys swim trunks by major retailers like Target, Kohls, and internet/other toy stores nationwide.

The reason for the recall is unfortunately very painful! When the water guns are partially filled with water, they can stand upright on the pool floor with the narrow end facing upwards, and an unsuspecting person can receive an impalement injury, which is what happened in the case of a little 8 year old girl.

Customers who have bought the product can contact Wild Planet toys for a free replacement which has an angled handle so that the toy cannot stand upright. The contact number for Wild Planet Toys is (800) 247-6570 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday. You can also visit Wild Planet's Web site at www.wildplanet.com/jetstreamers, or email the firm at: help@wildplanet.com
