One of my favorite things to do when I was little was to play house-house! I would set up a mini kitchen, dress up "mommy style", and make all my dolls play along with me. Back in the good old days, we didn't have so many sophisticated toys that the kids of today play with. However, we did use our imagination to the fullest and enjoyed every bit of it!
If you have ever looked through the pretend play isle of a toy store, you'll find some really fascinating toys there. Every conceivable toy household appliance right from vacuum cleaners to kitchens to mixers to refrigerators and everything in between can be found on those shelves! Pretend play is a great way to make your kids use their imaginations. It's also a good idea to encourage kids to play on their own, both for themselves, as well as for the busy parent.
