Shiver me timbers! All me hearties, it's time to get out the Jolly Roger and the Pieces o' eight! For all you landlubbers wondering what I'm talking about, rest easy. Today, September 19, happens to be National Talk Like a Pirate Day. Arrrrrr!
It's pretty interesting how this day came to life. In 1995, two guys, John Baur and Mark Summers, came up with the idea of a day where they had to converse in pirate lingo. National Talk Like a Pirates day soared to fame when the famous columnist Dave Barry wrote this piece in 2002. There's been no looking back since then!
