"Maggie and the Ferocious Beast" DVDs - A Must Watch!

Monday February 11, 2008
Maggie and the Ferocious Beast DVDMy little one had a stomach bug and couldn't go to school for a couple of days. She was feeling pretty tired out and wasn't her usual perky self. I decided to cheer her up by putting on a DVD, since she didn't have the energy to do anything else. So, I picked up "Maggie and the Ferocious Beast: Somewhere in Nowhere Land" and played it for her.

In a short while, she had a big smile on her face. I started watching the DVD along with her and was totally taken in by the simple, yet very alluring stories which reminded me of the books I used to read as a child. Before I knew it, I had watched the entire the DVD! It was a really pleasant way to spend the afternoon.

Maggie and the Ferocious Beast is a series of short tales about a five year old girl called Maggie and her stuffed toy friends, Hamilton the pig and the lovable polka-dotted Beast. It is based on the popular children's books created by Michael and Betty Paraskevas. Maggie is a very imaginative child and creates a whole world of her own called Nowhere Land, where Hamilton and Beast come to life. The stories on the DVD are utterly charming. You know what I liked the best about the stories? They have just the right combination of ingredients - they are perfectly paced, very interesting and most important, they exercise a calming influence on your child. The stories are engaging without the hyperactivity you commonly find in today's TV shows and children's programs.

I highly recommend this wonderful DVD, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast which is available online at the Shout Factory website and also at various other retailers. I believe that there are 2 new releases in the Maggie and the Ferocious Beast DVD series - Rain Showers and Spring Flowers and Recipes For Trouble.
