Kids' Crafts - Martian Matter Alien Maker
My kids are almost at the end of their spring break. Around halfway through I ran out of ideas to entertain them. Along came the Martian Matter Alien Maker kit - wasn't that perfect timing!? All excited, I opened up the box and was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't much to do to set it up. All the materials you need are ready to go. The kids pounced upon it eagerly and then there was no stopping them.
I really liked the Martian Matter Alien Matter primarily because of two reasons. One, it's hard to find a good craft kit which boys feel isn't too sissy to play with. Two, it is really well organized and the materials and pieces tuck away nicely within the main holding container. Most importantly, the kids had a great time playing with this nifty alien maker and didn't want to stop.

Hi. I just bought martian matters for my 5 year old. It was great for the first 10 alilens but then they stopped drying. Now they are just staying gooey messes. Do you have any idea what might be going on? did this happen to your kids? is it the martian mud? or the lunar lava? very frustrating because my son loves it and want to keep creating aliens!!!
thanks for any insights if you have any!

Josette,
I had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! We made about ten aliens, it was awesome… and then they stopped drying! 5 hours later, its still wet!
I noticed too, that the playdough is wetter than it was when we started so I am going to spread it out and let it dry a little bit and see if maybe dryer playdough helps suck the moisture out of the goo??
I actually found your comment while looking for answers to this problem.
martian matter alien maker is de bomb! I got it for christmas and it is so fun. Every alien worked good for me but when i took the top flat piece of play dough off the back of the alien had some holes on it so I gave the one’s that didn’t work to my brother
