Learn Chinese with The Adventures of Walker and Ping Ping

Saturday April 5, 2008
I'm all for kids learning about new cultures and learning new languages. In today's times, the internet and technology has made the world a much smaller place. When our kids grow up, the various regions of the world will be even more linked together.

Many people share the belief that in the not so distant future, it will be paramount to learn Chinese as China is an important player in the world's economy. There's no better time to learn Chinese than when you're very young. Kids find it much easier to learn a new language if they start early. It's also noteworthy that kids can pick up the exact way to pronounce words only when they're pretty young. The bottomline is that it's great to expose your kids to new cultures, teach them new languages and broaden their horizons at a young age.

The Adventures of Walker and Ping Ping is a wonderful DVD by virtue of which your kids can learn about China and also pick up basic Chinese. The storyline revolves around an American boy called Walker who is living in Hong Kong. Through his eyes, you can take a look at the life, the people and the Chinese culture. The charming and well animated stories in The Adventures of Walker and Ping Ping are fun to follow along. Read the review of The Adventures of Walker and Ping Ping.
