Walk into any toy store and it's easy to be overwhelmed. Thousands of toys whirring, blinking, flashing and making noise, all imploring "BUY ME!" Maybe I'm being a bit dramatic, but sometimes buying a toy can be stressful. There's lots to consider -- age, ability, interest -- and if you are buying for a child with a developmental delay or disability, the process can become exponentially more difficult.
Luckily, help is on the way. Ann Logsdon, the Guide to Learning Disabilities, has put together a terrific guide with tips on how to choose the right toys for babies under two years. This is especially important when you consider that toys for this age can be so much more than playthings.
