Snow-Day Sanity: Mindware's Cool Coloring Books

I frequently find myself pulling my hair out as I try to entertain two small boys for days at a time. Sometimes weather keeps them home. Other times it's some unidentifiable virus that makes them feel just crummy enough to climb the walls at home all day.

On days like this I turn to kitchen-table projects like coloring. In an effort to preserve those few IQ points that remain in February, I have my very own set of fine-tipped markers and a coloring book from Mindware.

They have incredibly intricate, artistic coloring books for adults or talented tweens. The Hidden Transformations book features cool images that change from birds to fish, for example, as your eye moves across the page.

Also in Mindware's lineup are Extreme Dot to Dot books, and extreme is right! These intricate dot-to-dot pictures have more than a thousand dots! Extreme Dot to Dot books feature "Explorers" or "Animals" as their themes.

These books would make a great gift for someone who travels on long flights for business, or for an expectant mom on bed rest.

My kids know that they don't get to color in Mama's book, and they love that I like to color as much as they do.
