Will You Buy A Nintendo 3D for Your Child?

Follow me on:

With the electronic market abuzz with the news that the new Nintendo 3DS is not appropriate for kids under six, due to concerns that the 3-D images could have an adverse affect on developing eyesight, parents are now left with a decision to make.

While 3-D has never been linked to any health issues aside from dizziness and nausea, will parents refrain from buying the hand-held game device for their older children once it hits the market in March? It's hard to say.

It gets even more complicated if you have children both under and over six in the house. Because if your home is like mine, the younger ones often play with toys that belong to the older children. Certainly you can tell your younger child not to play with the new Nintendo 3D, but it can be challenging.

As a parent of a 10-year-old boy and a nearly 8-year-old daughter who both have a DS and would probably love the new 3D version, I'd have to say probably not. I'm not the type to run out and buy the latest of anything to begin with, this new warning just makes me hold back even more. What about you? If you are in the market for a hand-held gaming system, will you consider the Nintendo 3D or will you spend your dollars elsewhere?
