Board Game Qwirkle Challenges the Whole Family

Follow me on:

Every week, our family sits down to play a game together. Sometimes we'll huddle around a board game at the kitchen table, other times we'll move to the living room and fire up the Wii. Whatever we decide, we try to vary our choices from week to week, letting each member choose what they'd like to play.

For the past few weeks we've been settling down with Qwirkle (compare prices) from MindWare. Easy to understand but a challenge to play, the game tests your ability to think critically and creatively. At about 45 minutes a round, it's fast too, great if bedtime is looming.

You can play Qwirkle one-on-one or in a group with teams. It retails for about $35 and is good for kids ages 6 and up.
