A few years ago, I bought my then 5-year-old daughter an Easy-Bake Oven (compare prices) for her birthday. As a girl growing up, I was never allowed to have one of these culinary wonders and I was totally living vicariously through her.
As I had hoped, she loved it, and even now, three years later, she'll ask to bake something in it. We keep it in the kitchen, on a shelf with all the cookbooks and on more than one occasion, it will be noticed by one of our guests who will invariably proceed to reminisce about their own baking masterpieces.
I love it when my kids have toys that I can play with! And I'm not alone -- my husband can spend hours putting together our son's Lego kids -- with or without our son present!
