I am a big fan of toys that grow with kids. If I'm going to spend money on something, I want to make sure it's something that will last a long time and keep them entertained while they grow -- cognitively and physically.
The VTech 3-in-1 Zebra Learning Scooter (compare prices) is the latest entry on my wish list for my 20-month-old (maybe for his birthday in a few months). I saw it in the store the other day and I thought it was great. For the littlest of little ones, it's a push walker. For toddlers, it's a ride-on toy. And for preschoolers, it's a scooter. If that wasn't enough, there are a whole bunch of activities, including games that review colors and animals and fun accessories like a flashlight, a walkie-talkie and a compass.
Bright colors, lots of music and a cheerful design make this great for kids 18 months to about 4 years. It retails for about $50.
