Toy Fair 2011 Preview: YBIKE

Follow me on:

From February 13-16, toy executives, buyers, marketers, members of the press and many other professionals will be descending on New York City for Toy Fair 2011. Put on by the Toy Industry Association, Toy Fair is expected to attract over 25,000 attendees who will view over 100,000 products. Over the next few weeks, we'll take a look at some of which toys are expected to be hot.

When is the best time to teach a child to ride a bike? It really varies with the kid. My husband's younger brother was riding a two-wheeler at 3, my best friend's daughter just mastered the skill at 8. The YBIKE (compare prices) which debuted last year at Toy Fair and has been a best-seller ever since,  does a really good job of improving a child's balance, coordination and self-confidence. (The balance bike is appropriate for kids ages 2 and up and retails for about $80.)

This year, the company announced they will be introducing a number of new products, including a trike and a scooter. I'm anxious to check them out.
