Through today, toy executives, buyers, marketers, members of the press and many other professionals will be descending on New York City for Toy Fair 2011. Put on by the Toy Industry Association, Toy Fair is expected to attract over 25,000 attendees who will view over 100,000 products. We are taking a look this week at some of the more popular offerings.
With Cars 2 scheduled to hit theaters on June 24, parents should brace themselves for an onslaught of related products -- clothing, accessories, bedding. Toys.
In anticipation of the sequel to the popular film Toys "R" Us and Disney Consumer Products have unveiled a series of 15 items -- wood vehicles, tracks and playsets. Great for kids or collectors, products in the Disney-Pixar Cars Wood Collection will retail between $17 and $50.
There are a variety of 2-pack sets including:
- Radiator Springs Lightning McQueen and Sally
- Doc Hudson and Dusty Lightning McQueen (left)
- Fillmore and Sarge
- Flo and Ramone
- Mater and Hudson Hornet Doc
- The King and Chick Hicks
- Dinoco McQueen and Tex
- Wingo and Boost.
There will be special sets at Toys "R" later in the spring featuring DJ and Snot Rod; Cruisin' Lightning McQueen and Ramone; Tractor and Young Tow Mater and Red and Guido.
