Got a preschooler who's nuts for Thomas? There is a whole train yard worth of toys out there featuring everyone's favorite steam engine. Not only are these toys a lot of fun, many of them have a great deal of educational value too.
One of the latest offerings, the Thomas & Friends ABC Train (manufacturer's site), does a great job of keeping your little one happy and entertained while teaching them a thing or two. Three different modes focus on letters, words and colors and all of the activities are supplemented by cheerful songs and noises. Even young children will benefit from play as even a simple action such as pushing a button, elicits an effect -- an important lesson toddlers need to learn.
Great for kids ages 18 months to 5 years, the Thomas & Friends ABC Train retails for about $25.
