Great Ride-on Toys for Toddlers and Preschoolers

Follow me on:

And so it begins. In a few months, my youngest son will be turning 2. And even though I definitely have time before I have to start his birthday shopping in earnest, I have been giving what we'd like to get him present-wise some thought. It amazes me how far he's come in a year -- 365 days ago he couldn't walk, and now here he is, running and climbing, jumping and even skipping.

That's why I think his "big gift" will likely be a ride-on toy of some sort. I like these types of toys because of their versatility -- they can be played with inside or out -- and that they allow young children to really work their gross motor skills while getting some exercise. The thing is, there are a ton of these types of toys out there and it can be difficult to choose which one is best. That's why I'll be checking on this guide to the best ride-on toys for toddlers and preschoolers by Catherine Holecko, the About.com Guide to Family Fitness.

There are a lot of nice ride-ons to choose from and they are all geared at young children, taking into consideration their physical size and what they are capable of. Plus, like all toys for young children, they are adorable and lots of fun!

Happy shopping to me!

Does your child like to play with ride-on toys? Which ones?
