I always thought mud pies were the ultimate in pretend food. Squishy, messy, easy to manipulate, mud pies definitely were my favorite. But thanks to a couple of new products from Play-Doh, preschoolers no longer need to get super-dirty to cook up some of their favorite imaginary meals in their pretend kitchens.
First up is the Play-Doh Flip 'N Serve Breakfast (compare prices), a self-contained playset that includes a griddle that cooks up pancakes, waffles, eggs and hashbrowns, along with other assorted morning-time delights. Complete with four cans of the popular doh, the set also comes with a spoon, fork, knife, spatula, stamps, dishes and recipes. It's great for kids ages three and up and retails for about $13.

When you are ready to settle down for the afternoon, Play-Doh Cookie Monster's Letter Lunch (manufacturer's site) may be just what your stomach ordered. It includes 45 yummy molds, including all the letters of the alphabet (perfect for alphabet soup, natch) as well as a big bowl, utensils and the furry guy in blue himself, who is more than willing to eat what your little one cooks up. It too is great for kids ages three and up and retails for about $15.
