Look for Rio Toys, Books, Video Games to Be Popular This Weekend

Follow me on:

We are looking at a cold, wet weekend ahead in the northeast, perfect movie weather. And if you've got a little one, chances are Rio is on their radar.

The thing with movies for kids is that there is a whole ringamarole that goes along with it. Toys, video games, books -- a two hour movie is suddenly an experience, complete with merchandise!

I have seen some Rio toys at Toys "R" Us (manufacturer's site) and I have to say, they are pretty cute. The line, which is being exclusively distributed by the toy giant, includes all of the characters available in 3.75-inch mini figures in two packs, 8-inch basic plush pals, 10-inch animated talking plush and 9-inch feature plush and beanies. Also available are Rio video games and a line of books from HarperCollins.

"Rio is expected to be one of the most captivating family films of 2011 and we are supporting its release by creating the ultimate retail destination for fans at Toys"R"Us stores, filled with an exclusive line of Rio toys and content that can't be found anywhere else," said Robert Marick, Executive Vice President, Fox Consumer Products.

Will you buy your child Rio products?
