Build-A-Bear Cause for Celebration

Many parents chose to hold birthday parties and other special event parties at Build-a-Bear Workshop, a national retailer, where children are able to choose an animal, stuff it with love and dress it in a style all their own.

St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, is a children's hospital located in Memphis, TN that raises money to find cures for pediatric catastrophic diseases including cancer. At St. Jude's, a child is never denied services based on their race, religion, or the family's ability to pay.

In an effort to gain more funding for St. Jude's and provide children being discharged from the hospital with a celebratory experience, Build-a-Bear Workshop is encouraging guests who hold parties to consider a Cause for Celebration Party.

    • Parents schedule a party for a minimum of 6 guests with Build-a-Bear Workshop either online, at the store or over the phone
    • The party host decides on a dollar amount per child that they will pay for the child to spend during the party
    • As part of the Cause for Celebration Party, in addition to the cost of the party, the party host makes 1- $10 donation
    • This $10 donation provides a $10 gift card for a child being released from St. Jude's to stuff their own personal bear at any Build-a-Bear location
    • Personalized invitations and donation cards can be printed from the Build-a-Bear website
    • Children attending the Cause for Celebration Party can make cards to be delivered to other children at St. Jude's Hospital
    • Parents can ask party attendees, in lieu of gifts, to make a donation to St. Jude's
    • As the host, you can use email and social media sites to gain donations from others not attending the party
    • 100% of donations go directly to St. Jude's
