The doll is part of a line of toys in support of the movie, Barbie: A Fairy Secret (compare prices). Barbie is a movie star, getting ready for her red carpet premiere. But with a pull of a string and a push of a button, her dress magically shortens and wings are revealed.
While I haven't had the opportunity to play with the doll myself, taking a look at the comments in the different shopping sites, there seems to be a disagreement on the quality of the doll, so take note if you have a younger child. It appears in many cases the wings are pretty fragile and come off. It's important that the doll, if you choose to buy it, be handled with care.
The doll retails for about $20 and is appropriate for kids ages three and up.
