I always struggle to find gifts for my husband for Father's Day. He'll give our kids and I a list of things he wants, but they are usually pretty practical -- this year he asked for folding chairs for the beach for our family and a hose caddy. Both fine things, but not exactly something for him exclusively.
Thankfully, I always have a fallback gift that I know he adores -- sets from Lego's Architecture series (compare prices). The series, which is geared at builders ages 12 and up, features important buildings that you can create on a small scale. Right now there are nine to choose from, including The White House, the Seattle Space Needle and the Guggenheim Museum.
Some are easy to build with under 30 pieces, while others are much more complicated -- one of the newer entries, a Farnsworth House, has 546. In any case, they are fun to build and display and I find they go over much better than a tie!
