Marbles The Brain Store

Have you been to your local mall lately, because it's possible that a new Marbles: The Brain Store might have recently opened their doors in your hometown area. This store is a specialty retailer that offers consumers a wide variety of books, toys, games and software that are geared to both stimulate and strengthen the brain.  Aside from their website, physical locations of the store currently exist in Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, and New Jersey. 5 more stores set to open to expand their presence in both Massachusetts and Maryland, but will also add Pennsylvania to their reach.

There are about 250 items present within the store that fall into 5 categories: critical thinking, memory, word skills, visual perception, and coordination. Each item selected is reviewed by a Board of Brain Health Experts that includes scientists, physicians, psychologists and other therapists. This store challenges consumers to learn right in the store  and provides a a fun, hands-on atmosphere, geared for children and families of all ages. Products and games are open and available to be  played and experienced before any decision needs to be made about purchasing. Staff members, as know as "Brain Coaches," are knowledgeable about many of the products in-store, able to provide suggestions and willing to sit right down at the table to play and experience their offerings. Aside from table top games, many great whole body coordination games that involve a lot of movement and exercise were available as well. Upon entering the store I was initially expecting to see only Marbles-brand products that focused on mainly mental games, but I was very excited to find many other unique game companies represented that I'm familiar with and enjoy such as Gamewright, Blue Orange, and Think Fun.
