September 16 is National Play-Doh Day! For the last 50 years, Play-Doh has been encouraging young children ages 3 and up to use their imagination to squish, mold, press, squeeze, and cut this modeling compound into a variety of colorful creations. Play-Doh is not only recognizable to me by the yellow can with the colored lid, but once the container is open, in all honesty, many times the distinct smell of Play-Doh is what brings my childhood memories with this activity flooding back.
Not only can parents purchase a variety of Play-Doh toys and games online or in the aisle of any toy store, Play-Doh now has a section of their website, called Play-Doh Play-Dates. Here parents can view instructions to help their children create different Play-Doh items surrounding various themes such as Back to School, Beach Party, Pizza Shop, Holidays, etc. The creations are also categorized by beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Step-by-step picture instructions are available to make various Play-Doh concepts, which is a great way for children to be learn to make different items all by themselves.
Here are some of the latest Play-Doh toys and games for your children!
