I remember as a child when the holiday store catalogs would arrive in the mail. I'd sit there with my pen and circle all the toys and games I wanted Santa to bring for Christmas. Well, holiday gift research is a little different these days with the addition of online shopping and smartphones. Toys "R" Us allows children and parents to create a Wish-List in store or online. Now through November 5th, for every Wish-List created in-store or on-line, Toys "R" Us will donate $1 in gift cards (up to $50,000) to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation provides wishes and experiences to children who have life-threatening medical conditions. The Toys"R"Us Children's Fund, the public charity affiliated with Toys"R"Us, has given the Make-A-Wish Foundation an additional $275,000 grant to make children's wishes come true.
Within the next few weeks, the Toys "R" Us Wish List can be downloaded as an iPhone and Android App which can be viewed by family members and friends anywhere, which will ease the stress of remembering each child's wish list when holiday shopping. The Toys"R" Us iPad app, Toy Finder, will help children create the list and provide consumers with some coupons when purchasing. Toys "R" Us Stores also include a kiosk where the wish list can be printed to use as a guide when shopping. Scanning devices can be used in store to add products to the Wish List. Just like a bridal registry, when the gift is purchased it is removed from the list. Items purchased from the Wish List can also be returned or exchanged without a receipt as the purchasing information is available through the list.
Wish lists are not only great for holiday shopping, but can also be used for special events and birthday parties as well.
