This year, we decided to trade in our Wii system for an XBox 360 with Kinect (compare prices). Having a 3-year-old, I had begun to notice the content Microsoft was developing for young children with the release of their Sesame Street TV series, that it just seemed like the best fit for our family at this time. Along with the XBox 360 gaming system, we also purchased a Kinect Sensor.
The Kinect Sensor changes traditional game play that was previously controller and button pushing dependent. Now, using the video camera in the Kinect, your body becomes the controller. Large motor actions such as jumping, reaching, squatting, and swiping are recognized by the camera, and allows you to advance through different obstacles in various games. Your child's image will be transformed directly into an episode of Elmo's World on Sesame Street TV, while adults may enjoy imitating dance moves with popular music during Just Dance 4 or Dance Central 3. We have found the Xbox 360 with Kinect Sensor, a very entertaining family activity. As a result, I decided to put together a list of what I believe to be the best Xbox games available today.
