Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway Set Toys Recall

Thomas The Tank Toy Recall

Of late, we've been seeing an alarmingly large number of toy recalls because of the threat of lead poisoning. The latest toys to be recalled due to the lead poisoning hazard are the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway toys. RC2 Corp., in conjunction with the CPSC, has issued a recall of various Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway Toys due to the lead poisoning hazard in connection with the paint they're decorated with. This is a whopping big operation - an estimated 1.5 million Thomas & Friends toy units sold between January 2005 and June 2007 are being recalled.

According to the CPSC, the surface paints on the wooden railway toys contain lead. As we very well know, many young children have the habit of putting their toys in their mouths. Lead happens to be toxic if ingested by young children. Fortunately, RC2 Corp. announced the recall before any untoward incidents occured.

Here's a list of the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway Set Toys that are being recalled as of June 2007.
