See what the buzz is all about!

There's always a lot going on at the American International Toy Fair. This year, the New York Toy Fair 2008 was no exception. There were lots of hot toys, some old favorites and some not so good toys on display. Here are some of the most talked about toys at the Toy Fair 2008.

Lego Indiana Jones Line

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is slated to be one of the hot movies of 2008. It's no wonder then, that Lego, Hasbro and the rest have jumped onto Indy's bandwagon! The plot of the movie isn't yet revealed fully. Still, Lego had some wonderful sets based on Indiana Jones. The Indiana Jones LEGO sets included Indiana Jones Temple Escape, Indiana Jones Race for the Stolen Treasure, Indiana Jones and the Lost Tomb and Indiana Jones Motorcycle Chase. You won't be disappointed!

Disney Fairies Clickables and Pixie Hollow Virtual World

Disney Online presented a very exciting and refreshingly beautiful virtual world at Toy Fair 2008 featuring none other than the fairies of Pixie Hollow. Girls will be able to visit the Disney Fairies website and create their very own fairies, interact within the virtual setting and do fun stuff like play games and much more. One doesn't need to be a fortune teller to predict that the Disney Fairies line will be one of the hottest properties this year! In addition to the virtual aspect of Disney Fairies, Technosource has teamed up with Disney to bring to us Disney Clickables. Disney Fairy Clickables are toys with a virtual component to them. The Clickables include bracelets, a jewelry box, charms and a hand held game.

Hasbro's Biscuit My Lovin' Pup

This adorable life sized golden retriever is the newest addition to the Furreal Friends line. It's interactive, of course, like the other Furreal Friends. Believe me, you'll be amazed at what this pup can do. He can wag his tail, chew on his doggy treats and can actually recognize his owner's voice! Just as a good doggie is supposed to, Biscuit follows commands like "sit", "lie down" and much more.

Technosource's Battle of the Sexes Game

I loved this rapid fire, full of beans electronic game with a wild theme. What better to spark off controveries than a subject featuring men vs women? TechnoSource's demonstration at Toy Fair of their Battle of the Sexes game was entertaining and promising. I thought it made for a great party game, good for laughs. Keep an eye out for this one!

Kid Preferred's Smart e-Bear

Smart e-bear was one of the most talked about toys at Toy Fair 2008. The bear is made by Kids Preferred, LLC, and the quality is outstanding. In addition to looking and feeling good, the Smart e-bear is really smart as the name suggests. So, are you curious to find out what makes the Smart e-Bear smart? Well, it comes loaded with songs and stories to enthrall your child, for starters. But, wait, you can connect Smart e-Bear to the internet and reload it with stories and music from your favorite artists and storytellers. Your kids will never tire of Smart e-bear! Check out their website to learn more.

Wild Republic's Bindi Irwin Toy Line

The Bindi Irwin toy line attracted a lot of attention at this Toy Fair. This was partly because young Bindi refused to be the only child allowed into Toy Fair! She didn't want to be an exception to the "No Kids at Toy Fair" rule. Coming back to the actual Bindi Irwin toy line from Wild Republic, I did like what I saw. There were Bindi dolls outfitted in safari clothes, Bindi Australia Zoo playsets, plush and bendables. This line certainly is in tune with the "earth friendly" theme that is very "in" this year.

Fisher Price's Elmo Live

Remember TMX Elmo? Elmo Live is an animated, more alive version of the previous Elmo which was such a major hit with kids and adults alike. This time around, Fisher-Price has excelled itself. Elmo Live tells stories, he plays games, he blows flying kisses and much, much more! There's a lot to look forward to with Elmo Live which is scheduled to be released this October. You have to see for yourself what Elmo Live is all about - the You Tube video link is provided. All I can say is that this is one "red" hot toy for 2008!

Corgi H2Go Hydrogen Powered Remote Controlled Car

Corgi has come out with H2Go, a revolutionary hydrogen powered remote controlled car. This technology is very exciting, since it means that the fuel cells are powered by renewable, eco-friendly energy. There's a hydrogen base station with a solar panel which produces the hydrogen to power the car. It's the way of the future. The H2Go is going to be pricey, of course, but it's a great toy for adult enthusiasts.

IToy's Me2

Irwin Toys or IToys, as it is better known, has come out with a revolutionary idea which aims to blend the real and virtual world. Me2 is a cell phone sized device which kids can carry along with them. Kids are then supposed to run, jump and be as physically active as they can. The Me2 will detect the amount of movement by it's sensors. The aim is to garner up enough points which can be used on Me2's website to play games and other activities. Different, right? The idea has a lot of potential. If Me2 makes it, it's gonna be huge.

Jakks Pacific's Eye Clops Night Vision

Oh, one of my favorite toy lines from last year just had a makeover. Now, the EyeClops line has an added member - the EyeClops Night Vision Goggles! It's pretty cool actually. You can see stuff in total darkness thanks to the infrared sensors on the gadget. Also, the original Eye Clops now comes with different zoom lenses for added fun. By the way, apart from the EyeClops, Jakks Pacific also has a wonderful line of toys up it's sleeve this year.
