Playmobil Animal Farm #4490 Review

Imagine a farmer and his family hard at work on their farm, cleaning the stable, feeding the animals and baling hay! Playmobil has created an intricate farm set complete with working cable winches, wheelbarrows and farming figures including a full farming family in the Playmobil Animal Farm Set #4490. One can almost imagine the Old McDonald jingle playing in the background! Brightly colored figures, moveable parts and animals make this Playmobil set a must have for your kids.

Everyone is working busily on the farm. The stable has to be cleaned and the animals have to be fed. The farmer picks up one bale of hay after another with his pitchfork and throws it onto the wheelbarrow. Then he takes the muck out into the yard and takes it to the manure heap. This is the farm scenario that you experience when playing with the Animal Farm Set #4490 by Playmobil.

The farmer is able to pick up bales of hay as well as muck and manure with his pitchfork. The doorway of the stable is wide enough for a small sized tractor to pass through. Amazing detail which is almost always a part of Playmobil sets includes flower beds at the base of the trees!

Playmobil tends to make figures and accessories of their sets quite tiny and this set is no exception. Especially the accessories such as tools used in a farm are too small and dangerous for any kid below 4 to be playing with. Playmobil does indicate that this set is for ages 4+. So if you have kids in both age categories, make sure that the younger ones are not playing with this set. The MSRP of $69.99 is too high for this set and could easily have been about $20 lower. The stable is about 21” L X 16” W X 12” H.
