Guide Review - Toy Story 3 Woody's Run Around Roundup Game
The Toy Story 3 Woody's Run Around Roundup Game challenges kids to tag the correct Toy Story 3 characters with the electronic tagger. The game features Woody, Jesse, Buzz Lightyear, Rex and Ham. Unlike most games, this one is really fun for a child to play all alone, or friends can join in. It can be played indoors or out.
Last year Wild Planet, the game's manufacturer, released a similar game called Mickey's Mouse-Ke-Tag. While the concept was clever, the implementation didn't work as well as I'd hoped. This year, Woody's Run Around Roundup uses the same game mechanics but they greatly improved the game. The characters are smaller and more stable, so they don't tip over when they're tagged. The Mickey characters were tippy and awkward, with a removable base that kept falling off. Their limbs stuck out and made it difficult to tag them.
Woody's Run Around Roundup solved all of these problems with a few tweaks to the toys' shape and this game is much more fun to play.
Multiple game modes include hide-and-seek games, memory games and a treasure game. As children progress to the higher skill levels, the game challenges them more. It says, 'Find the character with the pink nose!" instead of naming "Ham".
In all this is a clever game with a lot of variations, indoor and outdoor play and solo or group play.
Woody's Run Around Roundup will be in stores in May, 2010.
