martin.bmp The Scholastic Video Collection is a collection of Scholastic's best books adapted to video. Kids who enjoy watching DVDs rather than reading books will love the wide range of educational and enjoyable titles from Scholastic. Kids who own, or have read the original books from Scholastic will also delight in watching their favorite stories come alive in the Scholastic Video Collection. Scholastic Video Collection has released two new DVDs - The Dot and Martin's Big Words.

The Dot is a collection of inspirational stories - stories that make you feel good. Each story is about a person who keeps trying, and doesn't quit. Of course, the feel-good endings only serve to strengthen the motto, "Where there is a will, there is a way." Stories from "The Dot" include THE DOT by Peter H. Reynolds, AMAZING GRACE by Mary Hoffman and BRAVE IRENE by William Steig. Two bonus stories exclusive to the DVD include “Flossie & The Fox” by Patricia C. McKissack and the Spanish version of “Amazing Grace”. "The Dot" comes highly recommended.

Martin's Big Words is a wonderful collection of African-American stories. The stories include MARTIN'S BIG WORDS by Doreen Rappaport, JOHN HENRY by Julius Lester and SEVEN CANDLES FOR KWANZAA by Andrea Davis. Martin's Big Words is a beautiful biography about Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. The story on the festival of Kwanzaa tells us all about the meaning behind the festival and what the rituals in the festival are. This DVD is being released in time for the Black History Month.
