Fisher-Price Recall of Dora, Diego, Sesame Street Licensed Character Toys Alarm Parents

Monday August 6, 2007
Fisher-Price Toy RecallOf late we've seen a huge number of toy recalls due to the hazards they pose to young kids. The latest and one of the most shocking toy recalls was recently announced by none other than the toy giant Mattel, Inc. Mattel's division, Fisher-Price, has announced the recall of more than 80 of it's Dora, Diego and Sesame Street licensed toys. The recent toy recalls have two things in common. One, the high levels of lead contained in the surface paint of the toys. Two, they are all made in China.

The news of the recall has sent shivers up the spines of parents. It's a scary thought that a toy on which your baby is chewing may ultimately lead to fatal health complications! It's very sad and unfortunate that toys which are supposed to bring joy and laughter are turning into dangerous objects to watch out for. I do hope that toy manufacturers take a long and hard look at their production facilities and re-evaluate their safety standards. ASAP.

For more information on the Fisher-Price toy recall, please visit the CPSC website. Here you will find a comprehensive list of the recalled toys as well as instructions on how to proceed if you own any of the affected toys.
