It's wonderful to finally see an African-American princess from Disney - Princess Tiana who stars in the movie The Princess and the Frog to be released this summer. The new addition to the "princess" family comes after a long time, specifically since '98 when Mulan was introduced. Interestingly enough, the frog prince from the movie has an Indian name, Naveen and is not African-American.
The new Tiana princess doll from Mattel was unveiled at the Toy Fair in New York earlier this year. The doll is beautiful, with cocoa colored skin, wearing a blue gown in a lovely shade of blue and a tiara. The line of Tiana dolls will also have complementing accessories like Halloween costumes, school accessories, books and also digital items like cameras and MP3 players. I expect we will get to see Tiana in many Disney products in the near future.

Well the other dolls are too. Their dolls not real people.
