The Oriental Trading Company is an icon when it comes to party supplies, art and craft supplies, toys for favors and other odds and ends. They've been around for three quarters of a century and seem to stock everything under the sun. Most parents who've ordered stuff from them like them because of their fast delivery and excellent prices.
I was obviously very concerned when I heard the recall news about the “Face Paint” products distributed by the Oriental Trading Company. The FDA has received several adverse event reports of the face paint causing skin reactions in children. Further investigation showed that the use of the Fun Express face paints caused rashes, burning sensations, itchiness and swelling in the places where it was applied. Lab testing revealed that there was significant microbial contamination in the products tested.
If you have bought these face paints, please check the item number and UPC code on the package. In case you have an affected batch of face paints, the FDA recommends that you should take them away from your kids immediately, throw them away or return them to the retailer.
