The YBike is a balance bike, recommended for young preschool aged children between the ages of 2-4. It’s long, durable plastic design, allows young children the opportunity to maneuver a ride-on toy that helps to develop their balance and ability to shift their weight from side to side, which is a great pre-requisite skill for learning to pedal a bicycle.

My Review

The YBike balance bike comes in a variety of colors that include green, blue and orange. Though it is geared for preschool aged children ages 2-4 the YBike can withstand the weight of up to 100 lbs. Therefore, many older children and siblings may also enjoy riding this around the yard and neighborhood with supervision. Now, at 2 years old, my son is able to climb on the bike and maneuver it slowly, forward. The handlebars are a little more challenging to maneuver than its predecessor for infants and younger toddlers, the YBike Pewi. If a child loses their balance, it can be heavy and somewhat awkward for them to pick the bike back up. Initially, for a young toddler, this has been a source of frustration in our home. However, the more my son practices and gains more balance and control, the more he has been able to demonstrate more success. As with any ride-on toy or balance bike, definitely consider the use of a well fitted helmet and provide adult supervision while enjoying this toy.
