Top 10 Licensed Characters For Toys For The Coming Year

Licensed Toys are the current trend. As seen at the New York Toy Fair 2005, most of the big names in the toy industry have planned toy releases of popular licensed characters like Batman, Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, Angelina Ballerina, Chicken Little, Fantastic Four to name a few. The release of most of these toys are timed to coincide with their respective movies/TV series. Here are some of the popular Licenced Characters that have their very own line of Toys being released this year.

1. Batman from Batman Begins

Batman Begins explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham. Due to his parents' murder, disillusioned Bruce Wayne travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city. Release Date is Jun 17, 2005.

2. Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith

After three long years of relentless fighting, the Clone Wars are nearly at an end. The Jedi Council dispatches Obi-Wan Kenobi to bring General Grievous, the deadly leader of the Separatist droid army, to justice. Meanwhile, back on Coruscant, Chancellor Palpatine has grown in power. To his closest ally, Anakin Skywalker, he reveals the true nature of power and the promised secrets of the Force in an attempt to lure him to the dark side. Release Date is May 19, 2005.

3. Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four based on Marvel's comic book features Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, who can elongate his body, Susan Storm/Invisible Woman, who not only can become invisible at will but can render other objects invisible, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, who can shoot fire from his finger tips and bend flame, and Ben Grimm/The Thing, a hideously misshapen monster with superhuman strength, together battle the evil Doctor Doom. Release Date is July 08, 2005.

4. Angelina Ballerina

Angelina Ballerina is very hot for this year. Lots of new products on Angelina are coming out. Based on the enormously popular books by Helen Craig and Katherine Holabird, Angelina Ballerina tells timeless tales of a remarkable little mouse who dreams of becoming a prima ballerina.

5. Spongebob Squarepants

In The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004), Spongebob leaves the town of Bikini Bottom to track down King Neptune's stolen crown. When the main suspect turns out to be Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob stands by his boss and vows to find the real culprit, even after just being passed over for the promotion of his dreams. SpongeBob and Patrick travel for the first time on land to retrieve the crown and clear Mr. Krabs’ name. Coming to DVD on March 1st 2005.

6. Harry Potter from Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire

Based on J. K. Rowling's fourth Harry Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" features Harry and his friends in their fourth year at Hogwarts. Harry participates in the inter-school tri wizard Tournament.

7. Madagascar The Movie

This wonderful animated movie from Dreamworks is set in New York's Central Park Zoo. Four animals, namely a lion, a zebra, a giraffe and a hippo are best pals. One of them lands up missing, and the other 3 friends all escape captivity to hunt for their missing friend. The story is funny and cute, with the animals being shipwrecked and left to fend for themselves in the wild. The release is planned for summer 2005.

8. Chicken Little

Chicken Little, an animated film from Disney, is based on the popular children's book. It teaches little kids how not to be afraid. The story is about Chicken Little who was always afraid that the sky is falling on her head. Release Date is Nov 2005

9. Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the story of Charlie who comes from a poor family. He always has dreams of chocolate which he cannot afford. One day he happens to win a contest held by Willy Wonka, head of Wonka's chocolate factory, and wins the trip of his dreams.. a visit to Wonka's Chocolate Factory along with 4 other winners! Release Date End Of Year.

10. Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi

Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is an animated television show based on Puffy AmiYumi that airs on Cartoon Network. The show, a compilation of animated and live-action segments starring the real life Puffy AmiYumi, follows the adventures of two very cool, but very different, Japanese pop stars as they travel from gig to gig or just hang out at home in Tokyo.
